How It All Started

Just like how many ideas flow through the human mind like torrents, the idea behind MyCheeps (formerly known as My Chips) came alive when passion met purpose.

The vision was captured by Fatimah Olanloko Abisola, a young Nigerian entrepreneur who came to the UK as a student. With a burning desire to leave an impact through everything she does and a little culinary certification in her pocket Fatimah set out to redefine and disrupt the snacking world, especially the plantain chips industry.

Today, we’ve simplified our range to three bold Flavors, each honouring one of Nigeria’s three major tribes:

Cinnamon sweet (Dadin Gaske)– Hausa

Spicy saffron (Alata Swe Swe )– Yoruba

Natural (Uto eke) – Igbo

All of which are related or mean “real sweetness”.

Fatimah Olanloko Abisola is the visionary behind My Cheeps, a young, culinary certified Nigerian entrepreneur who dared to dream while studying abroad.

Through every challenge and every triumph, her mission has stayed clear:

“To make people snack better and live better.”

She believes food should nourish, delight, and represent culture, not just fill shelves.

The Launch

My Cheeps was originally launched as “My Chips” on May 10, 2024, proudly starting as a Nigerian brand.

While studying in the UK, Fatimah built and monitored the operations from abroad. We launched with four exciting Flavors:

Cinnamon Sweet

Spicy Saffron

Natural

Salt & Lime

The Nigerian market was tough, but after testing the waters in the UK, boom! Orders skyrocketed. We gained traction fast and even became the second fastest-selling stall at a trade fair in August 2024.

When Things Fell Apart

In November 2024, we faced a major setback.

Due to delays in goods delivery, most chips expired earlier than expected. This caused a huge financial loss, about 40% of our customers complained about the taste, and internal betrayal from a few team members forced Fatimah to pause the brand.

We took 9 months off to rest, rethink, and restructure.

The Comeback

In July 2025, we came back stronger:

Officially registered in the UK

Upgraded packaging

Refined our flavour lineup

Rebuilt our operations with heart and strategy

Now, with 85% of our customers in the UK, we’re a British Nigerian snack brand, born in Nigeria, growing globally.

Giving Back

From day one, we pledged to donate 10% of our monthly profits to charity, and we fulfilled that promise throughout our initial operations.

This mission continues, and giving back remains a core part of who we are.

Our Packaging & Sustainability Promise

Although our packaging isn’t yet 100% sustainable, we’re proud to say our sourcing, production, and operations are ethical and sustainability-driven, down to the very farms we buy from.

We’re working on making our packaging as responsible as our chips.
